In the midst of war in Israel, we're still delivering the Word of God to those who want to receive it.
In the midst of war in Israel, our commitment to delivering the Word of God to those who want to receive it is more crucial than ever—and we couldn’t do it without partners like you. Despite dangers looming on the streets of Israel following Hamas’ devastating terrorist attacks, our team persists in providing Israelis with the New Testament in their native language.
Simon Stout, a dedicated member of our Jerusalem team, says a wide range of people have requested the New Testament—and whenever possible, we hand deliver them.
“When I reached out to a young man from a Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) family to arrange delivery of the New Testament, his gratitude was palpable,” Simon reported. “But since he had been drafted to serve in the war, we could not deliver it to him personally. Nevertheless, he earnestly asked that we drop it off for him so that he could read the teachings of Jesus upon his return home.
“We were deeply moved when an Arab Christian requested a copy of the New Testament in Hebrew to share with her Jewish friends who desperately need comfort during these tumultuous times.
“A university student braved the pouring rain to meet me and receive his Hebrew New Testament. He remarked, ‘If you are offering to deliver this important book amidst the chaos of war, then it must indeed be worth getting wet for.’”
The words of Jesus possess extraordinary power to bring hope and healing, even in the worst circumstances. Please join us in prayer for the light of the gospel to shine brightly across the nation of Israel during this dark hour.
